Origin Story…
Side One YYC was our first expansion. After getting many offers to fly the Vancouver team out to beautiful locations in Banff and Lake Louise for big corporate events and weddings, it made sense to scout Alberta musicians to field these inquiries. Calgary has often been referred to as Nashville North, so it wasn’t hard to find the kind of talent we demand of our operation.
While Calgary’s country scene gets a lot of the spotlight, there’s a vibrant and thriving indie, punk, and pop history that both Calgary and Edmonton boast. Our musicians are steeped in these traditions… and can pull off a pretty authentic Ukrainian polka if it comes down to it! I mean, these are the prairies after all.
